Jawun and Bigin

$750.00

There isn’t a story for this painting. I drew the basket, shield and the sword because these are the traditional artefacts from my childhood. These three objects are used for different things. The jawun (woven lawyer cane basket) was used and is still being used for carrying bush foods and other things; the bigin (shield) was used in ceremonies, dances and sometimes in fights and the bagur (sword) was also used in fighting and ceremonies. The colors that I have used are the traditional colors that we use to paint our artefacts with.
